NEU Battery Materials

NEU Battery Materials uses the world's first redox targeting electrochemical method to recycle lithium batteries. NEU takes in black mass from end of life batteries and manufacturing waste to produce battery grade lithium. NEU is currently focusing on recycling lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Dr. Dalton Tay Chor Yong

Dr. Dalton Tay Chor Yong is an Associate Professor with the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He received his B. Eng (1st Class Honors) and Ph.D. from MSE, NTU in 2007 and 2012, respectively. Thereafter, he joined the National University of Singapore (NUS) as a Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) Postdoctoral Fellow with the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from 2012 to 2015. He is also the current Cluster Director designate with the Energy Research Institute @ NTU and Task Leader of the Singapore-CEA Alliance For Research in Circular Economy (SCARCE) program. Additionally, he serves as the Cluster Leader of Environment Chemistry and Materials Centre (ECMC) at the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute (NEWRI). His research interests are highly multi-disciplinary and span over the fields of renewables /biomass valorisation, green chemistry, electronic and plastic waste recycling, sustainable biomaterials, and environmental toxicology.
